People were pretty excited for this card.  Picked up RJ and budding MMA fan Brady Quast, and headed to Chucky's house.  Packed house:  Kenner, Golfing Griff and cousin (nice guy, looks like a white Suge Knight), Bohan (who didn't have the remote this time*), Tom Campbell and wife, Dave Mansi and his son, Lomeads, Sabby (who actually stayed for the main event this go around), forgot a few but probably don't know their names anyhow.

A few notable moments from the evening:

  • The Buentello/Strvue fight proved to be a real crowd pleaser, largely due the obvious humor involved anytime a real life Gumby takes on a real life fat brick shithouse.  Third round was a letdown, but whatever, you can't win 'em all.
  • Johnson/Garcia came on really quickly as Kenner and I were headed to the deck.  It was Kenner's turn to choose, and after about 14 seconds of sleeve tugging and 10 seconds of "uhhhing" he made his pick.  Tough conditions for Ken to pick under, though:  missed the reach advantage, couldn't really see their tattoos, didn't know where they were from, too far away to see who looked madder, same skin color, no one was wearing the tight shorts etc.  Eventually he settled on the "tall guy" (Johnson, who won in fine style).
  • Chucky trying a single leg takedown on his PVR.
  • TC saying Diego is in a different league that BJ.  True Tom, much like Hayley Wickenheiser plays in a different league than Alexander Ovechkin.  
  • Asking Kenner if he was there the time Chucky was cleaning his house while we were all drinking every stray bottle in his fridge, and then telling us he was going to bed.  Kenner:  I don't know, that's happened a couple times now hasn't it?  Sorry Dave!

Stating next UFC we'll be tracking wagers.  For those who don't know, we bet 5.00 a fight with a 5.00 bonus if you predict the correct round and outcome, while being penalized 5.00 if you get it all backward.  Get ready for 108!
